LOCAL FARMS AND FARM PRODUCTS
It's summertime, and that means in addition to our established farms/greenhouses, many backyard gardeners are reaping extra harvests and ready to place some of their items up for sale. You can find information on these farmers below under the 'Backyard Farmers', or see 'Local Farms' for contact information for our farms that are open on more of a year round basis.
Backyard Farmers
C. Fowler: (Posted June 16) We have corn, bush beans, peas, zucchini, squash, and okra. Can be contacted for local pickup at (615) 427-1213. We set up at the Dalton Farmers Market on Tuesdays & Saturdays.
H. Allen: (Posted June 16) Yellow squash and cucumbers (collecting 40-65 lbs each day) the squash will only be around for a few more days and the cucumbers for maybe two more weeks. $2 lb. The first or second week in July we will have Roma tomatoes and possibly green beans. We sale mostly from out home and sometimes from the Farmers Market. Prewitt Berry Farm: OPEN NOW!!!! (Open seasonally) U pick and prepicked blackberries and blueberries: 1085 River Rd, Chatsworth
Rising Springs Farm: Vegetable Farm and Greenhouse offering several yearly events. Examples include painting events, ready, set, grow! workshop and more. 1170 Beaverdale Rd, Crandall
Riverview Tree Farm: (Open seasonally) Christmas Trees: 1692 Little Murray Rd, Crandall
The Strawberry Farm at Ramhurst: (Closed Until Further Notice) (Open Seasonally): Offers U Pick and prepackaged Strawberries. 1555 Ben Adams Rd, Chatsworth
